In order to comply with state sales tax requirements, Premier is required to retain in our files, a properly completed exemption certificate from all customers that claim a sales tax exemption. As a Seller, if we do not have a properly completed certificate, we may be required to collect sales tax for goods and services delivered within your state.

Effective July 1, 2022, Colorado will impose a $0.27 Retail Delivery Fee on all deliveries by motor vehicle to a location in Colorado with at least one item of tangible personal property subject to state sales or use tax. Learn More »

Connecticut Farmer Tax Exemption Permit
In order to qualify for the retail sales tax exemption, a farmer must first apply with the Connecticut Department of Revenue Service (DRS) by filing Form REG 8. Completed applications must be sent to Taxpayer Services at DRS for review.
Applicants who have been issued a Farmer Tax Exemption Permit must provide a copy at the time of each purchase, or a blanket certificate may be submitted for a continuing line of exempt purchases. A blanket certificate, which is a copy of the original permit with the words “Blanket Certificate” written across the top, is valid from the date of issuance until September 30 of the following year. If a valid copy of the Farmer Tax Exemption Permit is not provided at the time of purchase, Premier 1 Supplies will collect applicable sales taxes.

Kentucky Sales Tax Exemptions
Effective March 27, 2020, all eligible farmers exempt from sales and use tax for the purchase of certain items must apply for and use their new agriculture exemption number when claiming applicable tax exemptions. The Application for the Agriculture Exemption Number, Form 51A800, is available at www.revenue.ky.gov under Sales Tax forms.

Louisiana Sales Tax Exemption Forms
Effective July 1, 2019, commercial farmers must have a card issued by the Louisiana Department of Revenue to receive tax exemptions when purchasing agricultural inputs and supplies. The Louisiana Department of Revenue calls that card “Form R-1091.” To receive Form R-1091, you must first fill out Form 1085: Application for Certification as a Commercial Farmer.
If the application is approved, the person or entity will receive Form R-1091: Commercial Farmer Certification. A copy of Form R-1091 must be attached to a completed Form R-1007: Farm-related Products Sales Tax Exemption Certificate to receive an exemption from state sales and use tax on the purchase of farm-related items.

Maine Sales Tax Affidavit of Exempt Use
A Sales Tax Exemption Card shall be issued to qualifying persons who submit an application to Maine Revenue Services. Applications can be obtained by contacting Maine Revenue Services or calling (207) 624-9693.

Mississippi Sales Tax Information
Mississippi Sales Tax Law provides a reduced rate for farm tractors and farm implements. There is a requirement that such tractors and implements must be sold to farmer for agricultural purposes. The reduced rate provided is 1.5% and this rate covers the sales of the tractors and implements, as well as the sale of parts and labor used to maintain and/or repair such equipment. Sales of tractors or implements to anyone other than a farmer are taxable at the rate of 7%. However, there is NO exemption or reduced rate for general supplies purchased for use by farmers on the farm.
All sales of the following are exempt from tax when sold to anyone in any amount:
- Livestock and poultry feed
- Fertilizer
- Antibiotics, hormones, drugs, medicines, serums and vaccines, vitamins, minerals or other nutrients for use in the production and growing of fish, livestock, and poultry
All sales of the following are exempt from tax when they are to be used in growing agricultural or forest products for market:
- Insecticides
- Fungicides
- Herbicides

Missouri Sales Tax Exemption Forms
The Missouri Department of Revenue provides a sales and use tax exemption for Missouri-based businesses involved in agricultural production processes such as raising and feeding livestock or poultry for sale at retail.

New Mexico Tax Information
New Mexico does not have a sales tax. It has a gross receipts tax instead.
A Nontaxable Transaction Certificate (NTTC) may be obtained from the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department (TRD).
If you are a reseller or otherwise obtain a valid NTTC from TRD and execute it to Premier 1 Supplies, LLC, we may exempt you from paying gross receipts taxes on qualified purchases.

Tennessee Agricultural Sales and Use Tax Forms
Farmers may qualify for and receive an agricultural exemption from the Tennessee Department of Revenue to make agricultural purchases exempt from sales and use tax. Qualified applicants will be issued the Agricultural Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Exemption which must be presented as proof of their status directly to the seller at the time of purchase.
