Sheep QuikFence® 6/35/24
Product Details
A prefabricated fence that has 6 conductive, horizontal strands, is 35" tall installed and has a vertical string every 24". White PVC posts are built into the mesh every 12.5".
The result, when properly energized, is a nearly impenetrable mesh to sheep, goats, coyotes and dogs.
Its very low electrical resistance (37 ohms per 1000') is important for fences that are either long or will experience high weed contact.
Lowest strand is energized and suspended 7" above the ground (instead of neutral and resting on the soil). This reduces the need to spray weeds—and weeds that do contact it are less able to drain away electricity (because it is further to the soil).
Common Uses
- To graze orchards and vineyards.
- To subdivide pastures for a whole season in lieu of moving netting.
- To protect outdoor hay supplies.
- To graze stockpiled forage on hayfields/pastures in late fall and early winter.
- As an interim permanent fence until a proper fence can be built.
For fences that will be moved often, consider ElectroNet® or ElectroStop® instead.
Available with positive/negative (Pos/Neg) capability for high resistance fencing conditions.

* Pos/Neg (PN) fences are recommended where the soil is very dry and/or the animals do not ground well. Two clips are used at each end. One is hooked to the energizer, the second should be connected to a ground rod.
Installation
Tip: When using Pos/Neg fencing, a PowerLink (see Accessories above) is recommended to attach the negative lead to the ground rod.
See PDFs and videos above for additional installation instructions.
Precautions
Warning! Due to risk of fire, do NOT use continuous output energizers with electric netting or electro-plastic conductors such as rope, twine or tape. Use only with a low or wide impedance intermittent pulse energizer. (Fi-Shock™ brand energizers which are sold as low impedance, continuous current output should NOT be used with electric netting.) All energizers sold on Premier’s website use an intermittent pulse and are suitable for use with electric netting.
Dry conditions and wintertime usage may reduce the effectiveness of electric fencing. Ice and heavy snow can flatten netting and thereby damage it.
Dry or frozen ground may cause post spikes to bend or break if inserted with force. Pilot holes may be needed. We recommend using drivable or single spike posts in hard soils. Double spike posts provide more stability when the ground is soft.

I have purchased electric fence for sheep from Premier 1 years ago and am very happy with it. It is still serving me well. The Sheep QuikFence fence is easy to tangle and bulky to hold to gather up. I would not recommend it as an easy fence to use if you must move it very often. I regret this purchase compared to what I have been using.

The portable sheep fencing is a good value and also good quality. I would purchase this again.

I raise sheep. I bought this fence the first time 4 years ago. Bought two sections initially. My untrained sheep ran through it right away and I thought I had wasted my money. I even wrote a bad review of the product. However it didn’t take long for my sheep to learn to respect it and stay away from it. Now maybe a lamb or two get in trouble but they learn quickly. I like this product so much that I keep adding 100 feet sections to it. I recommend it.

One year review: this is not the fence for us. We have other Premier fencing which we love and holds our sheep in, but this is not that fence. The QuikFence holds them in for a little while, but once they realize that they’re fenced in, they find a way to break through this. They have mangled it up so many times I’m getting rid of it.
I gave it 3 stars for construction; it is well constructed and of good quality, it’s just the design that is not working out.
It also gets tangled up VERY easily (worse than Christmas lights), despite my efforts to keep it from getting so. I am a patient person and don’t mind the untangling process but it was also getting old. Time for this fence to go.

I have one roll of this fence and five or six rolls of the ElectroNet fence. Compared to the ElectroNet fence, this fence tangles very easily. The bottom clips that hold the wire in place slide easily, so the fence ends up scooting up on the post.
I have Shetland sheep which are very small so the lambs can squeeze under it fairly easily if it slide up even a little. Of course if it is under tension on a corner, it sometimes will slide up enough that the adult sheep can go under it. I find this useful for areas where I need a slightly shorter fence than the 164' Electronet and I am able to keep an eye on it to ensure that the fence is not sliding, but I will never buy more of it.
