How to Use
Tips
- Harnesses are more likely to stay on the brisket if it has 2 months’ wool growth.
- Adjust frequently. Rams and bucks lose weight during breeding season.
- If the forelegs begin to chafe, adjust harness or add padding/covering.
- Crayon fits on brisket, between the forelegs.
- The best practice is to put the harness on a few days before putting the ram in with the ewes. This allows time for the harness to settle in, and for adjustments.

I highly recommend this nylon harness! It is super helpful to identify when a ram has bred a ewe, and those records are handy when you are getting ready for lambing season. I’ve had this harness for over ten years and have never had any problems with it. It is easy to put on and take off, and the best part is that it’s nylon so it is easy to clean after breeding season!

Overly complex and not user friendly. Once we figured it out and got it on the ram, he managed to slip out of it after a couple days and was tripping over himself. I ended up cutting the straps off and started from scratch using the remaining parts to make my own that slips over his head like a bib with one fastner around the belly. Much easier.

Not user friendly and if your animals are huge they don’t fit properly or adjust decent and then there is too much slack.

We purchased this harness to monitor the activity of a new ram with about nine adult ewes. Applied for one day, then removed it when the ram showed signs of limping. We will be applying it again now that his condition has improved.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worked great for about week, then came out and the nylon had shredded and buckles had snapped. We don’t have an aggressive buck or herd, so the quality of the product is just sub par.
