Benefits
- Much faster than using the hand/elbow method and will keep rolls neater and untangled.
- Extends conductor life by allowing it to be stored inside when not in use.
- Easier to use than New Zealand-style reels because the reel itself is supported by a strap around the neck instead of a hand. Wind the reel with the right hand and use the left to remove and install posts and/or conductors or to feed tape flat on the reel.
- Requires fewer turns to wind up 1000 ft than other reels because it has a large 20" inner-reel circumference. A spring-loaded metal latch locks the reel in place when not in use.
How to Use
Can also hang the EzeReel Complete on either wood or steel posts by using brackets (sold separately).

I find this reel so much more cumbersome to use than geared reels. There is nothing broken about it, but it’s just a lot less fun to use than the Strainrite reels.
When deploying and you put the neck strap on, the natural way to pay out the line is to walk backwards and that doesn’t work for me. I carry it in my hand by the strap. Other reels I can hold by the handle, and apply ‘drag’ with a finger on the spool. I can’t find such a hold on this reel.
At the end I’m usually attaching to an existing fence and the Strainrite reels will hang on a fence. With this one the only thing I have figured out is to tie the neck strap to the fence. Without the accessory hangers Premier sells I can’t figure out a way to easily attach it to a fence or post.
It has plenty of great reviews so I’m sure that people have figured out how to use it, but I bought this one first and now own about 9 Strainrite reels and this one. I hate when this is the only one left to use.

For the money it is a good fencing reel.

We have used these reels for 25 years and still have our original ones. We have about 20 of them and use them on our dairy for all groups of animals. The strap makes it easier for the children to roll them up.

Great!

This large reel for 500’ of electric cloth fencing sets a new standard in recovery time for laying out and picking up my portable fence. The spin lock keeps the tape from backing or looping off when I don’t want it to. Everything works as it should.
There are a few alterations I will make though. First I will cut a narrow notch about 3/4” into the outer edge of the plastic reel so that I can snap the line into it after locking the reel to avoid loops falling off in the wind once the fence is set. Second I’ll drill and set a “hot” post in the reel near the center to permanently attach the tape and clamp the hot power directly onto the outer post to electrify.
Well worth my hard earned $.
