Kane Mineral Feeder
Product Details
Proven indoor/outdoor small grain, pellets, salt or mineral feeder for lambs, kids and show animals.
They've worked well both for Premier and our customers.
Common Uses
- For orphan lambs and kids. Their stomachs are not able to thrive (or survive) on hay and grass until they are 10 weeks old. It's too expensive to feed milk replacer so long. The solution is grain, pellets and soybean meal.
- For weaned lambs being pushed to catch the late spring markets.
- For show animals.
- For thin or sick breeding animals requiring special attention.
- For salt or mineral—should be available free choice year-round. These feeders are ideal for supplying loose salt and salt/mineral mixes indoors.

Leonard M from Colorado
It’s a terrible mineral feeder for sheep and goats since they just knock it off the mount. But great for chicken feeding, which is what I use if for now. LOL!
Stacey C from Virginia
It’s very useful.

I've had this mineral feeder a couple of years now. The red feeder constantly gets knocked off of the wall bracket.
Michael H from Missouri
The mounting bracket and the internal baffle to regulate the amount of mineral are both pretty worthless. Sheep knock the feeder off the bracket easily and quickly. Once the mineral gets a little damp from the sheep saliva and general humidity nothing at all feeds under the baffle. I remove them immediately. Then I mount it to a board using bolts, nuts, and washers of an appropriate size. The board then gets screwed to a post or the leg of a (Premier 1) feeder. The feeder itself seems a little on the flimsy side but my previous 2 of these have held up well even when the sheep use it as a scratcher. Even with the shortcomings, I still use them because they are of a good size for my flocks and are fairly convenient to fill and I am not quite sure how I could DIY something as nice. Just easier to buy this. Also with the board backing I am able to use another small board hinged to it as a lid to keep hay, etc. out of the feeder.

The goats knock it down every day. Cheap and flimsy and no lid.
